Individual Client Services
Philanthropic Services

Back Bay Financial Group, Inc. (BBFG) has advised individuals and organizations who work tirelessly to enact positive change in the world. We look for clients with whom we can forge a long-term relationship; who view wealth as a privilege, not a birthright; who look to use the graces bestowed upon them to make positive changes for individuals, their families, and the world around them.

As Dr. Paul Schervish noted at BBFG’s Tenth Anniversary event, an “increasing number of individuals are approaching, achieving, or even exceeding their financial goals and younger and younger ages.” The Director of the Center on Wealth and Philanthropy at Boston College, Dr. Schervish has written extensively about the ongoing intergenerational transfer of wealth. As part of this trend, “wealth holders seek out rather than resist greater charitable giving…[making] philanthropy a key ingredient of the financial morality they observe and impart to their children, and see it as a way to achieve simultaneously the happiness of themselves and others.”

Our own commitment to philanthropy is demonstrated by the establishment in 2005 of the Back Bay Financial Group Charitable Gift Fund, to which we annually contribute a percentage of our profits for gifts to the community we serve. BBFG is also a member of Advisors in Philanthropy, a non-profit group whose motto is “helping families connect their money to their deepest values.” We embrace the group’s philosophy to help clients with inspired giving while “mastering and promoting the principles and practices of client-centered planning.”
