BOSTON – Mary M. Evans of Quincy recently joined Back Bay Financial Group as a financial planning assistant. In this role she works closely with wealth managers on financial plans, financial analyses and implementation of client portfolios.Evans is scheduled to take the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) Certification Examination in July.
“Once Mary completes her certification, which will include three years of qualifying full-time work, she will be one of seven so designated at Back Bay Financial Group,” said Co-Principal John H. LeBlanc, CFP®. “The importance of this designation cannot be overstated since the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards sets and enforces strict ethical standards.” Co-Principal Robert D. Siefert, CFP® said there are rigorous educational requirements covering general principles, insurance and risk, employee benefits, investments, income tax, retirement and estate planning. “As such certified financial planners possess the highest level of knowledge in the industry,” he said.
Prior to joining Back Bay Financial, Evans served as director of Graduate Career Services for Bentley College’s McCallum Graduate School of Business, Waltham, and previously as associate director, MBA Center for Career Development, at Babson College’s Franklin W. Olin Graduate School of Business, Wellesley. She also held several different posts at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Boston.
Evans received her master’s degree in Financial Planning from McCallum Graduate School of Business at Bentley College and her bachelor’s degree from Boston College’s Carroll School of Management, with a concentration in accounting.
