CHILDS JOINS BACK BAY FINANCIAL GROUP
Edward J. Childs has joined Back Bay Financial Group, Inc. (BBFG), a wealth management services firm with locations in Boston, Wakefield and South Yarmouth, Mass. The firm, with more than $200 million in assets under management, has been named for three consecutive years as one of Bloomberg magazine’s top wealth managers.
Childs has held senior engineering positions for 15 years at companies, such as Digital Equipment Corporation, the Research Institute of the Open Software Foundation and EMC. Most recently, he was Business Manager for Charles Tersolo Paintings in Boston.
As Operations Analyst/Financial Planning Assistant for BBFG, he will carry out a variety of analysis, research and technical assignments, including portfolio management processing and software integration.
“This is an ideal opportunity for Ed to put his technical background to use, along with pursuing a Certified Financial Planner® designation,” said Robert D. Siefert, CFP®, co-founder of BBFG. "These skills and his background will add to the professional services we offer clients."
Ed holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a diploma in Financial Planning from Boston University. He recently passed a rigorous CFP exam.
All BBFG advisors hold the Certified Financial Planner™ designation. They practice a Fee-Only philosophy in which they are compensated solely by fees paid by their clients and not from any other source. The company was founded in 1997 by John H. LeBlanc, CFP®, and Siefert. Their practice includes wealth management services for individuals, families, endowments and foundations, trusts, charitable organizations and small businesses
